One week into Crack the Vault: Operation Phantom Protocol, the vault sits at roughly 8.5% cracked. That might look slow next to some earlier seasons, but this one is built differently. The vault timer runs all the way to November 2, which makes Phantom Protocol a long-haul season rather than a sprint.
Here’s what that changes about how you play.
The quick version
- 💰 $10,000 season prize pool
- ⏳ Vault timer runs to November 2
- 🔓 Roughly 8.5% cracked after the opening week, with most of the vault still standing
Why early power matters
Crack the Vault splits its prize pool by contribution. If the community cracks the vault, about 70% of the pool pays out by power contributed, roughly 15% goes to the top 10, and roughly 15% goes to the top 100. Podium prizes and the Vaultbreaker bonus for whoever lands the final hit are on top of that.
On a long season, power you fire early stays on the board for the whole run. It keeps counting while the vault grinds down, so a steady start is worth more than it would be in a short season. The board also tightens as the weeks go on, which means early and mid-season pushes tend to pay off more than a last-minute scramble.
Show up often, not just big
Long seasons reward steady pressure over one huge dump right before the clock runs out. A few ways to keep that pressure on:
- Check in on your daily objectives. They refresh every day and hand out Gems, luck, and free items. Better luck feeds better crate pulls, and better pulls feed more power.
- Land your skill shots. Every item you fire triggers a quick mini-game, and a clean hit can multiply your power up to 2x.
- Watch for live events. Event rotations like Gem Storms, timed community attacks, and Supply Drops are some of the most effective moments to fire.
- Ask Vex. The in-app vault strategist can tell you what to fire next based on your own Gems and rank.
Spend beats hoard
One rule holds in every season: only up to 4,000 Gems carry into the next one, and multipliers and consumables clear at reset. Anything you bank past that cap doesn’t follow you. Board power does more for you than Gems sitting in your pocket, so put them to work during the season instead of saving them.
What happens at the end
If the community cracks the vault before the timer runs out, contributors split the $10,000 prize pool under the breakdown above. If time runs out first, the top 100 players still share a consolation pool. Either way, nothing you fire is wasted.
Gems are a free in-game currency. They aren’t bought or cashed out, and they have no cash value on their own. The prize pool is what pays out if the vault cracks.
Jump in
Crack the Vault is free to play, with no deposit needed. If you’re already in, keep the pressure on. If you haven’t started, a long season means you still have a full month of runway.
Bringing a friend in gets you both a bonus Vault crate once they’re active in the season. Grab your invite link.
