Operation Iron Lock is officially closed — and the community cracked it. The vault broke 100%, and the $4,000 season prize pool paid out under the usual rules: roughly 70% split by power contributed, 15% to the top 10, 15% to the top 100, plus a Vaultbreaker bonus for whoever landed the final hit and podium prizes for the top 3.
Now there’s a new vault to crack.
Crack the Vault: Operation Cold Storage
Crack the Vault is Cointiply Labs’ free, cooperative “heist.” The whole community earns Gems through normal play, spends them to attack one shared vault, and — if the community cracks it before time runs out — contributors split a real prize pool based on how much power they put in.
Operation Cold Storage just opened, and the numbers are simple:
- 💰 $5,000 season prize pool
- ⏳ About 16 days on the clock
- 🔓 6% cracked already, and climbing
Everyone starts this season on equal footing — 0 power on the board, no established leaderboard to catch. The players who show up early set the pace for everyone else.
What carries over, and what doesn’t
Since some readers finished Iron Lock with unspent resources, here’s exactly what a new season means for your account:
- Gems carry over, up to a cap. Any unopened crates convert to Gems first, then the cap applies. Multipliers and consumables reset to zero.
- You pick your starting loadout. On your first visit to a new season, you choose 1 signature item to keep — no power limit on that pick — plus up to 10 more items within a starting power budget.
- Crate pity carries with your account. The more crates you’ve opened over time, the closer you are to your next guaranteed rare pull. It’s account-specific, so where you land on that depends on your own play history, not the season.
In short: nobody starts completely empty-handed, but nobody starts with a guaranteed leg up either. It’s genuinely a fresh board.
How to jump in
- Pick your loadout — your signature item plus your budgeted extras
- Fill your deploy slots with whatever you’ve got
- Fire at the vault — each hit triggers a quick skill-shot mini-game; land it for up to 2x power
- Keep earning Gems from normal play — offers, quests, and daily activity all contribute automatically
If the community cracks the vault before the season ends, contributors split the $5,000 prize pool by contribution, with bonus pools for the top 10, ranks 11–100, and the Vaultbreaker bonus for the final hit. If time runs out first, the top 100 players still split a consolation pool — so there’s no real downside to getting involved early.
